Taman Mini Indonesia Indah Walk (Self Guided), Jakarta
Journey through Indonesia in just one day when you visit Taman Mini Indonesia. Spread across this 100-acre (101-hectare) park is a wonderful microcosm of the country, featuring 26 full-scale replicas of traditional houses from each of its provinces.
Get an overview of the vast attraction by climbing aboard the cable car and then get around on foot, bicycle or the mini train. Stop by each of the pavilions to study the architecture of the buildings and to view traditional costumes and such ethnography artifacts as everyday tools and weapons. Take a boat ride across the manmade lake featuring the archipelago's islands in miniature. Stop by the religious buildings of several faiths, such as the mosque, Buddhist temple, Catholic Church and Confucian temple. Watch traditional dance and music shows at each of the pavilion’s performance spaces.
During your time here, explore some of the museums, including the India Museum, Soldier Museum and Insects Museum. Then unwind among the glorious pastoral delights of the orchid garden, cactus garden and jasmine garden. There is also a bird park and a reptile park.
