Jewelry District Walk (Self Guided), Los Angeles

From pretty pieces and statement necklaces to the blingiest bling and jeweled designer watches, LA's Jewelry District is the place to go for fabulous jewelry. With almost 5,000 businesses, the locale is recognized by the Los Angeles Convention Center and Visitor's Bureau as the largest jewelry district in the United States. It is also the second largest jewelry district in the world.

There is so much to explore that you'll need more than a day to get around to see everything. Necklaces, rings, bracelets, pendants and many other stunning pieces come in all shapes, colors and designs. Many are on sale at bargain prices on an unbelievable scale. Some places offer up to 70% off. The jewelers are able to do this because they buy direct from source. By cutting out the middleman they make substantial savings and pass these onto the customer.

And it’s not just the jewelry and their prices that are attractive. Many of the stores and businesses are housed in buildings that date back to the early 20th century, and about half of the area is part of the greater “Historic Core” of Downtown Los Angeles. With such a delightful urban landscape, this is a terrific place to wander, even if you're not interested in making a purchase and adorning your body with platinum, gold, silver and precious gems.
