City Center Shopping Walk (Self Guided), Bonn

Bonn is big on shopping experiences, with lots of great stores and boutiques in its city center. Your search for a bargain and quality goods is made even more enjoyable by the extensive pedestrianized area, one of the biggest in Germany. As you wander through the residential streets between the squares of Münster-, Markt- and Friedensplatz, you will come across lots of wonderful shopping finds and a smattering of cafés. The principle shopping areas are on Post-, Stern- and Remigiusstraße and Friedrichstraße. Explore shops selling men and women’s fashion, indoor and outdoor furniture, jewelry and books.

And that's just for starters. Your dining needs are also well catered for in this part of the city center with plenty of restaurants and cafés. One of the most delightful places to browse or buy is the Marktplatz and the passageways and narrow streets leading off it. The triangular-shaped marketplace is situated in the heart of the pedestrian area and is characterized by its medieval architecture.

About a 15-minute ride northeast of the heart of Bonn is Siegburg's Cathedral Square (Munsterplatz). The public plaza is particularly known for its annual Weihnachtsmarkt (Christmas Market). There are stalls selling handcrafted Christmas and holiday decorations and freshly baked festive treats.
