Touring around Copenhagen Part 2, Copenhagen, Denmark
This post and the previous post is about the path that I followed when I visited Copenhagen. Price (7). In this post I am continuing my journey from number 8 (The King’s Gardens).
Rosenborg castle was a royal residence built by Christian IV in 1600’s. The castle also has a beautiful garden called “The King’s Garden” which were designed in renaissance style as the castle itself. There are many different types of plants and trees in the garden as well as statues. The most popular decoration of the garden is Hercules statue placed in a pavilion. The statue was created by an Italian sculpture called Giovanni Baratta.
The King’s Garden was a private property of the royal family until 1710. During that time the garden was also used for production, fruits, vegetables, and flowers we supplied for the royal family.
