Japanisch Essen in Wien – Eating Japanese in Vienna, Vienna, Austria

Gute und möglichst authentische japanische Küche in Wien zu finden ist ein wenig tricky. Obwohl es den Anschein macht, dass es fast an jedem Eck eine Sushibude bzw. ein “japanisches Restaurant” gibt, geht das Angebot nicht oft über Sushi, Tempura und Teriyaki hinaus. Nicht falsch verstehen, das ist an und für sich nichts schlechtes. Doch wenn man Wert auf qualitativ hochwertige, traditionelle Küche legt, beschränkt sich die Auswahl schnell auf eine Handvoll Restaurants. Dabei ist es aber oft so, dass “richtige” japanische Restaurants schnell in die super-teure (Unkai, Shiki) bis höherpreisige Kategorie (Mochi, Sakai) fallen. Trotz allem, ich liebe japanisches Essen und bei Besuch folgender Lokale komme ich voll auf meine Kosten:

Finding good and authentic Japanese cuisine in Vienna can be somewhat tricky. On the first glimpse it seems like there’s a sushi bar or so-called “Japanese restaurant” at almost every corner, but mostly their menus don’t offer more than sushi, tempura and teriyaki. Don’t get me wrong, this doesn’t mean it has to be bad. However if you’re looking for high quality, more traditional cuisine, your options are quickly limited to a handful of places. Very often, you’ll find “real” Japanese restaurants in the top (Unkai, Shiki) to high-class segment (Mochi, Sakai) which might be great for certain occasions but unaffordable for regular visits.
