Guide to Eating Vegan in Linz, Linz, Austria
Linz, Austria’s third largest city after Vienna and Graz, may not be on top of most travelling vegans’ wish list. Indeed you may never have even heard of it, as I had not until I first came to Austria to teach English four years ago.
Since then, Linz has become a kind of temporary home for me when I’m in Austria, as I made friends with a local through Couchsurfing about three years ago, and she has kindly (or perhaps foolishly) let me stay with her whenever I happen to be in town.
In some ways, it has been more of a home for me than London, as I actually have stuff stored there, though most of it is teaching materials! With our move to Berlin I’ll soon be leaving Linz behind, and though I’ll certainly be back to visit, it will probably no longer be a home away from home.
Anyway, like other Austrian cities, Linz is becoming more and more vegan friendly, and for a city of its size (it has a population of just 190,000), it certainly has a decent range of places to find vegan food. Here are my top picks for vegan Linz. (Last update: May 2015) ...... (follow the instructions below for accessing the rest of this article).
